Dempsey Hill - House, Barracks and Camp

On sat was a small uni gathering cum celebration of miss s.ong b'day. We went to Barracks at Dempsey Hill. Above is a picture of part of the dining area at Barracks. They have quite a number of rooms at the place where u can have your own personal dining area. They have Spa as well on the 2nd level. Which is a long stretch along the corridoor with rooms fo massage, body treaments , facials, pedicure and manicure. Gals another place for you to visit. But each massage treat is at an average of S$120 per session. I have not tried and not sure when I will ever too. But seems like a nice place though. They are under the umbrella of Spa Esprit.

We had our dinner at the greenhouse at the Barracks. BARRACKS, is a chic cafe.Its menu reflects a modern natural cuisine, serving the freshest and healthy ingredients with a warm appeal.

Each of us ordered our own kind of mains. As for me I ordered Perfumed Chicken Breast Roulade but it was served in a different style. It looks like scallop but its actually chicken breast.
The chicken is rolled around a mix of raisins,californian apricots and spinach. this is served together with asparagus, tomatoe, mushroom and carrots. There are actually appetizers but we were all very hungry that I did not had the time to take the picture of the them. The appetizers we had are Deep Sea Treesome which includes grilled prawns, fresh calamari & black mussels with 3 special dips; Double Whammy Sauteed prawns and grilled mango. The prawns are a bit spicy which are steamed eating it together with the mango, brings out the freshness of the prawns which is very springy and a little bit of sweetness and sourness due to the grilled mango. great combination which we can try the next time. The only side we ordered was the Fried Sweet Potatoe Nibblets which are tossed with sesame seeds.

As for the dessert I had the Barracks big strawberry shortcake. which is served in a different manner. Its kind of crispy on the top with fresh strawberries toppings and and strawberries inside are the fillings. its not very heavy. There is a small cup of vanilla bean cream to pour over the cake.
They served other desserts as well. One of it is their green tea tiramisu, lavender pound cake(do share it with a friend as it can be quite filling as my friend has informed) we did not have it so not sure how the taste is like but was told that its nice too. they serve 3 other chocolate cakes ( chocolate almond cake, triple chocolate brownie, Chai Chocolate Fudge cake). miss s.ong had the dessert of the day which has a scoop of vanilla ice cream which the fillings inside was rasberry cream. its taste was sweet and sour. The chocolate cake served with it was nice too. eating it together with the ice cream was really good.

The Black WonderWall

was at PL's place recently. have wanted to take a pic of her black wall but always forget. now introducing the black wall and chandelier. its actually very nice and unique.

school of hard knocks @ royal selangor at clark quay

Went to the school of hard knocks at the Royal Selangor at Clark Quay. Where u will be making your own pewter bowl with engraving of your name and prints which is up to u before knocking with a hammer the shape of the bowl. after the session we made our way to chinatown for food. we had hawker food at the Mei Shi Jie .had fried kway teow,fried hokkien noodles,wanton noodles,rojak,satay. after eating for so many different vairety of food for the past week am going to eat simple and light meals.
Went to a new place at dempsey rd called woosh which is very nice. there is a live band and a vast open area of sitting which is open space. they serve dinner as well as light snacks. nice place to gather with some friends and bitch around haha!!one thing though its accessible either by car or taxi.

Tree top trail 29 jul 07

set off for the tree top trail at Mac Ritchie. if u drive, drive along upp thomson rd and turn off at venus drive and turn into a carpark which is free. its is open from 8am to 5pm.and so is the trail.
its takes around 2hrs to go to and fro from venus drive. it was gloomy when i started the trail with bella. when we were up on the bridge it started to drizzle and we took some pics and quickly make our way down. by then it was raining heavily. we have to trek back to the car in the heavy rain and muddy ground.

Sentosa and night safari on 28 jul 07 with bella

bella mentioned that its kind of silly going to the top of the merlion which i do agree with her.there is always mount faber where u can see the view as well.

went to sentosa last sat with bella.took the sentosa monorail from vivocity.$3 per pax for the whole day.u can stop at any of the station and take again without paying extra. main stations will be the vivocity, imbiah and beach station. in fact after sentosa we did go to night safari.did not take much pictures when we were there . went to serangoon gardens to grab some food after night safari. so u ca imgine that i have been eating lots last week.
by the way, u can bring your overseas friends to the 4-dimensional show it has effects like water sprinkles etc.then u can go for the cineblast which is a ride and 3D show.not bad .there is also the image of singpore to understand spore better.

me wearing a helmet for a ride in luge.the combo ride for luge and skyride is $9 which is not very expensive. would love to ride on the luge again. its a bit like go carting.
cafe del mar at the beach station. when u ride the luge down u will arrive down at cafe del mar which we decided to have our snack or rather lunch?
there is a pool at cafe del mar and they even have a toilet which allows patrons to take a shower as well.the pool bar
